Many times, you hear people use the word super to express great excitement or something that is above; over; or beyond. Synonyms for super include: great, magnificent, marvelous, outstanding, sensational, superb, terrific or topnotch. Examples of using the word super in an expression or sentence include: “He has become a super singing star.” He did a super job with the remodeling.” “She got a promotion because she does super work.” 

“That was a super performance.” Or I like the word “super-duper” which means excellent and can be expressed in a sentence such as: “They are both super-duper spellers or super-duper teachers.” Super is generally used in a positive connotation. So, when a person says they are having a super day or they’re in expectation for something super; that is a good thing. 

But, what about the supernatural, what does that mean? Supernatural can be defined as: “an event or manifestation attributed to some force beyond scientific understanding or the laws of nature.” In other words, it is the realm in which God only operates! There is no equation or process to explain the supernatural because it is beyond natural comprehension or ability to perform. 

All of our lives we have had the need for the supernatural intervention of God in our human lives; because there are some things that are beyond our reach for help or deliverances. And except God step in, we are helpless in situations and need the supernatural to be a defense for our survival. So, in the year 2023, we look to God to be our Supernatural strength; even though we are living in a world of chaos and uncertainty; yet we have the capacity to believe that God is in control despite the wiles of the devil.

So, as we trust God to do the Supernatural in our lives, we must also remind ourselves daily to use the word “super” in our daily activities to connect with the Supernatural God by faith and say: “It’s going to be a super day! “That was a super performance!” This was a super day! You’re going to have a super day! That was a super Word we heard today! I feel super good today. 

You look super nice today. You did a super job singing, or you did a super job on that project, etc. But just as we need God to be the Supernatural for us, we need to make sure we apply the super in our lives by living a super life in God; that requires us to live holy, obedient, sacrificial, and transformed lives by the renewing of our minds. So, let’s resolve to live super lives, so we can reap the benefits of super blessings from the Supernatural God we serve. 

And how do we do this? According to Romans 12:1-2 which says: “I Beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”  

Along with Psalm 118:24 which says: “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”  So, come on, let’s have a Super Supernatural 2023 year!
